November:

Plant Garlic, Onions, and Shallots. Garlic, onions, and shallots are easy to grow and thrive when planted in autumn. Onions and shallots are grown from small bulbs called sets, while garlic is planted from individual cloves. Cover with fleece to protect them from harsh weather and ensure strong growth.

Prune Fruit Bushes. Prune blackcurrants, redcurrants, whitecurrants, and gooseberries between November and March while they are dormant. Remove any dead, diseased, or dying wood, and shape the plant into an open, goblet-like structure to improve airflow and encourage healthy growth.

Prune Autumn-Fruiting Raspberries. Autumn-fruiting raspberries produce fruit on new growth, so once they have finished fruiting, cut all old canes down to ground level between November and March.

Take Hardwood Cuttings from Fruit Bushes. Hardwood cuttings are an easy way to propagate fruit bushes, producing strong, healthy plants within a few years.
