February 2025
Weather permitting we will be asking for volunteers to help paint the outside of the refurbished shop or one of the other projects the Association Committee have for 2025. The request for help will be put on the gates, noticeboards around the site, on our website and via email.
Please make sure we have your contact details and all volunteers have access to unlimited tea and biscuits naturally !!!
March 2025
This month we are expecting 30 tree saplings to arrive which we were allocated from The Woodland Trust. They are destined to the far end of the car park in between Milton Piece and Eastney lake. Although this project will be coordinated by Bill Chatband, the Allotment Association Environment manager, it will also involve the participation of local school pupils. The aim is to increase the diversity of wildlife in this area and cultivate an area that at the moment looks neglected and prone to items being dumped into the nearby ditch rather than taken home or to the PCC dump.
If successful, we aim to continue this project around the rest of the site.
April 2025
Tool Sharpening Service 5th April 2025. Next to the allotment shop 11:30 - 14:30.
Hopefully we will see the return of the monthly coffee mornings that take place in the poly tunnel. Come and chat to your fellow plot holders. On occasions we hope to have someone come and inform us about a range of subjects related to wildlife and allotment life.
Please let us know if you have any expertise you are willing to share or something you would like to know more about.
May 2025
Held outside of the allotment shop, this is great opportunity to purchase a range of vegetable plants, grown by our volunteers, to grow on into some tasty produce on your plot.
Any donations of surplus seedlings and plants are gratefully accepted, thank you.
June 2025
Coffee morning in the poly tunnel. A social event with hot drinks and biscuits. A great chance to swap notes and exchange tips on growing and caring for your plants. And just a general chin wag.
